Our Philosophy

  • We believe the family unit is at risk in urban communities
  • We believe providing downside protection for at risk families may provide the stability they need to launch independent business ventures or excel in an increasingly competitive workforce
  • We believe access to capital and technical assistance may provide young entrepreneurs with the fighting chance they need to build a lifestyle they enjoy and prepare their heirs
  • We believe maintaining mental health and positive self image while preventing homelessness, violence, suicide, physical, psychological and substance abuse at home, school, in street and sports environments is necessary to achieve our mission

Activities

We are excited to announce that we are the recipients of a 2024 Community Leader Grant from CitizensNYC! The grant funding will help us purchase mats to start our Art of Sports - Judo program in schools in the South Bronx.

Our Approach

  • Build awareness of role models and representation
  • Build healthy interpersonal relationships through face to face interactions and productive exchanges that will foster protective environments at home and within the community
  • Build leadership skills, critical thinking, problem solving, probabilistic decision making, ideation and brainstorming tactics through experiential learning and open choice architecture
  • Measure and monitor impacts and outcomes to continuously adapt and improve our service
